Online-only registration, solo or as a group of 2 to 35 (a drawn group gets in together); drawn riders must pay by a deadline or lose the place, and unpaid places go to a second draw among the same registrants. Anyone who registered without success in each of the previous three years gets a guaranteed, non-transferable place if they register again.

A paid-up rider can pass the place, via the organizer's form, only to someone who also registered for that year's draw and of the same gender. Guaranteed, organizer, sponsor and package places are excluded, and selling a place for profit leads to a lifetime ban for both riders.

A separate pool of 500 places sold with a stay of at least four nights, only to riders who entered the draw and missed out in the first round; full prepayment and the place cannot be transferred. In 2024 sales ran in short windows (08:00-12:00) that stepped down from 7-night to 4-night minimum stays, first come first served, via the event site with Ötztal Tourismus Incoming as booking partner.
