Free sign-up on the organizer's Let's Do This page; people on the list are emailed when priority entry goes live. No go-live date has been announced. For the 2025 edition, list members got a 48-hour head start before public sale.

First come, first served via Let's Do This, with interest-list members served first. Places are non-transferable and non-refundable, there are no deferrals, and no entries are taken on event weekend. Riders must be 17 or older.

The organizer lists about 15 more charity partners for 2027, including Highland Hospice, Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance, Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity and Heart Research UK. Each sets its own terms; Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance lists a free place with a GBP 250 target and is taking expressions of interest by email.

Macmillan is again listed as a 2027 charity partner, but its 2027 sign-up page was not live on 29 Sep 2026. For 2026, Macmillan riders paid a GBP 77 entry fee to the organizer and pledged to raise at least GBP 150. Macmillan places were the only way in left after general entry sold out for 2025.

Two outlets reported on 9 Oct 2025 that entries were open; the exact opening time was not found. On 16 Mar 2026 the organizer announced a sell-out, calling it its fastest, but gave no date or duration. A record 6,500 riders took part, more than 1,000 of them for Macmillan.

Priority entry for people on the interest list opened at 10:00 UK time (GMT) on 29 Oct 2024 for 48 hours before public sale, with a cap of 6,000 riders. General entry was reported sold out by 24 Jan 2025, after which only Macmillan charity places were available.
